When the opportunity arises, we at G Social jump on it quickly. We got ta call Tuesday afternoon by our sponsor Sknvue to play Wednesday’s pro-am at the 2021 LPGA Kia Classic.
Wednesday morning came along, we loaded up the gear and took an hour drive down south to Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad, California. We started our day off by taking mandatory COVID tests, and of course we were negative. We met with Sknvue’s Co-founder and CEO Randy Wyant and had breakfast before teeing off. Prior to our tee time we learned we were going to be playing with two LPGA pro’s, one on the front nine and one one the back. The first pro, Katherine Kirk, three-time LPGA winner from Australia. Katherine and her caddie Vern were awesome from the jump. Handing out pointers, dishing jokes, and giving us memories we’ll never forget.
Our second pro was the reigning champ, well technically(2019 champ), Nasa Hatoaka. Nasa and her caddy Greg were just as awesome as our first pairing. The back nine was a bit more difficult for us amateurs, but Nasa being a champ at Aviara was effortlessly making her way through the back nine. Around the 15th hole we started to get a bit more serious, as we were in contention to win the tournament, at least we thought so. We ended T4 at -17 eight back from the winner.
All in all it was a great experience that we could not ask for it to be better. From the hospitality from the LPGA, to our sponsor Sknvue making it an incredible time. We thank Randy for the one of a kind experience at the 2021 LPGA Kia Classic pro-am. Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more LPGA and Sknvue content.
