Another great turnout for the latest Malbon Golf Club (MGC) golf tournament. It was held this time at the beautiful Monarch Beach Golf Links (MBGL) located in Dana Point, CA. As we expected, many remain anxious to return to “normal” conditions as we deal with this pandemic, so the fact nearly fifty players made the decision to come out and participate in the first tournament post COVID-19 lockdown, was a great sign that we are adapting to this new norm.
The MGC Tournament
Registration and Check-in
As we adhere to the new procedures to keep everyone safe, all of the registrations were made online and contactless check-in was also available.
Starting from the complimentary valet services as you arrive at the property to the contactless procedures for your bag to go straight from your hands to your cart and back to your car as you exit the golf club.
The MBGL staff and team are highly trained and keenly aware of the current conditions and remain as professional and dependable to provide their guests with the best possible experience.
The Structure
To avoid large crowds and gatherings the tournament was made possible with tee times starting on holes number 1 and number 10. This allows players to check in 20-25 minutes before their scheduled tee time in comparison to the traditional shotgun start where every player is set to begin their round at the same time.
The Mood
Malbon Golf Club is known to be one of golf’s premier clubs to embrace diversity and a different outlook on the golf industry. With an emphasis on lifestyle and hip hop culture, MBG is a place for the unconventional player who is looking to have a good time and play the sport we all love.
As we moved around the golf course documenting this day we could spot the Malbon crew from a mile away by the way they look, act, and the way they enjoy themselves. From music to the latest threads including the eponymous MGC brand, the club is proudly and uniquely represented.
Everyone was enjoying a spectacular day on the links. For just a moment, you could keep the madness going around in our world and just focus on the scenery and the golf.
The Players
One of the spotlight groups included brand ambassador and friend Mr. Jon Buscemi who, as always, enjoyed his round with friends and with his iconic sense of style. Jon is the founder of BUSCEMI, along with other brands like Malbon Golf, Uncle Paulie’s Deli, Truff, StockX and more.
The Malbon Golf Club
This Southern California club is in its second year of existence and in a short time, it has already provided great golfing experiences for its members. You don’t know who will show up to the tournaments, it can be its very own Stephen Malbon, an A-lister, a prominent actor or who knows… We guess you just have to be there to find out.

The Golf Course
Monarch Beach Golf Links is by far one of the best golf courses on the west coast, and after this lockdown ithas had time to develop into a perfectly manicured track. The team at MBGL delivers a top-notch golfing experience.
In Conclusion
At the end of the day, when you get to spend some time with great people on an amazing golf course, playing the sport we all love, it just can’t be beat. Playing a golf tournament with tee times elevates the golf experience as you make it more about the golf and less about the socializing which sometimes is not a bad thing.
I am optimistic that the golf industry will continue to find ways to provide a safe and responsible environment, so that we can all continue to enjoy golfing days with our friends and family.
